The FBCSA family mobilized to live out the Gospel in this city through rhythms of everyday life, bringing healing and hope through the power of the Gospel in tangible ways.

Projects and programs are not the mission; making disciples of a PEOPLE who live in a particular PLACE is the mission.

IT IS INTENTIONAL. IT IS LONG TERM. IT IS INVESTED.

REGULAR PEOPLE LIVING ORDINARY LIVES WITH GREAT GOSPEL INTENTIONALITY.

JOIN THE CONVERSATION

  • “What would Gospel Intentionality look like for my family?”
  • “How do I choose a people and a place?”
  • “How do I get my small group engaged with this mission?”

    Filling Needs for Foster Families

    CarePortal - How It Works

Fostering Together is a ministry of First Baptist Church San Antonio that supports foster and adoptive families and educates the community about fostering opportunities.

There are 3,700 children in foster care in Bexar County at any given time.  There are not enough homes to care for every child and many of the foster parents that can take in a child are not being supported.  Nationally ½ of all foster parents drop out every year because they are overwhelmed.  At FBCSA we believe the answer to solving this foster care crisis is the church.  In James 1:27, we are given a biblical mandate to love and care for orphans.

Our desire is to educate every individual in our church on the current foster care crisis and provide pathways of engagement into the lives of struggling families and children.  Some want to make a difference but are not able to be a foster parent.   We need people who can love and serve families who have been called to foster.

At FBCSA we will work to build communities of care around families that will act as extended families, providing babysitting, mentoring, prayer and other assistance.  We will also work alongside other organizations that are caring for struggling teens, kindship families and youth who have aged out of the system.  Everyone can do something.
